This is the last day for us in Lombok. We had breakfast in the morning and Nik, kak Tasha and I decided to walk along the beach. We did. We went to Sunset Restaurant and walk back to our hotel. But it was not what we expected. There is no direct access and the walking pathway facility was in very poor shape. It broke and sunk. Quite dangerous as we have to be very careful where we land our foot. We manage to reach the hotel nevertheless.
Bye, Lombok.

Before checking out, we decided to go for a spa. We went across the road for a tiny spa that does not even look like a spa. I choose to do some manicure and it was not that good. The massage was good though.

We went to a nearby Ayam Penyet restaurant and eat lunch there. We went back to the hotel to pray at the small mosque build inside the hotel compound.  The driver pick us up and we were on our way to the airport. We manage to persuade the drive to make a stop at a souvenir mall so we can buy some good quality souvenirs.

Flight back home was okay and I choose to eat dinner onboard. Flight was full of passanger and I feel a little uncomfortable because person next to me and on the next row keep looking at me while I was sleeping. Creepy much?

Overall, Lombok is an untouched beauty. It is not as popular as Bali which I love. The island are beautiful but the tour execution fell a little short. I might give Lombok another try because I want to dive there, maybe next time?
Early in the morning, we pack our bags for snorkeling trip and we went for breakfast. Breakfast buffet was very generous. We meet at the lobby at 9a.m before departing to the jetty. En route, the tour guide stop at several places so we can see the coastal line of Lombok and its mountain range.

We arrived Nipah Port  and board the boat. Ha, you might not expect this but this boat is actually a glass bottom boat. After 30 minutes boat ride, we reached the first island which is Gili Trawangan. This is what they dubbed as the ‘main’ island. It is the biggest of the three and this is where all hotels, chalets are pretty much centered. We disembark here to collect our snorkeling gear and the tour guide even give some snorkeling lesson. I went to snorkel and it does not work out because there is no fish at the beach and the tides are high. I tried to take photos with my Sony camera and then it wont turn on. I later found out my camera was water damaged due to broken seal. L

En route to islands

We made a long stop here. I manage to go to the Turtle house with baby turtles and we walk along the beach. The beach is full of massage parlours, tour counters, dive centers, bars and restaurant. I do not know why we stop very long here.

Next, we board the boat and stop off coast the Gili Meno. This is the snorkeling spot. It has beautiful coral gardens with plenty of fish. We snorkel and swim, spot nemos but the current and tides are still very very strong. I cut myself few times because of the corals. We then board the boat and went to Gili Air for lunch.

Why can we see more of this?

All of us eventually have lunch at this beach bar restaurant with alfresco dining. Quite expensive and the food taste just ok. Typical island food. The tour guide promises us to bring us to a second snorkeling spot but then he cancel because it was late. What? That was that one time that all of us were very angry. We were promised 2 spots but we only get 1. On the way back, the tides swell and there was some drizzling. We climbed on top of the roof and sat there during the journey back.

We reached the hotel and quickly wash ourselves, hang up the clothes for our BBQ Night. Before we actually do all that, Kak Tasha and I managed to jumped in the huge pool at the resort. We played some water polo and swim around. All of us join the same BBQ at the Sunset Restaurant. We ate on the beach with candle light. The seafood was good, there was even a bonfire. After dinner, we all decided to walk around this tiny town intending to look for souvenirs. We passed some spas, bars and ended up eating ice cream in front of the 7 Eleven. We then went back to the hotel and sleep.

My company has organized an annual department trip and this year, one of the destination is Lombok (after weeks of voting process). We were given allowance of RM600 each for this department trip. The key person for this trip was our colleague who took care for everything. We just relax pretty much the whole duration of this trip.

There were 3 groups for this trip based on their excursion for the trip – Dive Group, Snorkeling Group and Waterfall Group. Since I have not acquired my diving license yet, I go for the Snorkel Group. I heard Lombok has these pristine beautiful beaches. More beautiful than Bali.

The race we have to endure is the flight ticket race. Because I was in Europe during the discussion, I bought my tickets pretty last minute. My ticket cost around RM456 return – this is the basic ticket, no luggage and no meals.

Our hotel for the entire stay is Santosa Village in Senggigi. Senggigi is a coastal area which is popular for tourist. Most of the hotels are located in Senggigi and the price are not bad either. One room for one night costs us RM 235 including breakfast.

The snorkeling package which we visit 2 islands costs us RM 52. For waterfall tour it costs around RM 55. Cheap right?

On the departure day, our flight was at 3.35p.m from KLIA2. This was my 3rd time boarding at the newly open KLIA2. Kak Mar and I took half day off and went to KLIA2 via ERL at KL Sentral. From our office, its quite near thanks to LRT. Arrived at the airport, we meet Kak Tasha and other collegues who were on the same flight as I did. We have lunch and board the plane.

Here’s a story. Our flight was delayed for 30-40 minutes and some of my collegues went to buy some drinks. However, they did not manage to return on time. We waited at the gate with their bags, praying that they reached here soon. We did not exchange number *lesson there*. Luckily, they finally made it! The journey took us 3 hours where we arrived Lombok almost 7 p.m.
Menggigil kitorang ni ha. Mana taknya, bag semua tinggal kat boarding hall, orangnya tak sampai sampai. Masa tu kitorang mampu berdoa jelah sebab plane memang tunggu diorang je ni.

We arrived in Lombok, go through immigration and was picked up by our driver. We first went to dinner of course. Lapar kot aku tak makan. The driver took us to a place for Ayam Bakar. Apparently this is very popular throughout Indonesia. The food was okay, we bonded a lot during dinner before finally proceeding to the hotel. It was dark outside so don’t bother to even look for anything.

We checked in and we got lost trying to find our room. We found out that our room was actually at the end of the terrace.  Our room is a triple room, when we got there there was no extra bed. Have to wait around 12.30 a.m for the extra bed to finally come. Didn’t do anything much that night. We just shower, unpack and sleep.
